Spend the money. Allocate a block of time to back up only to External Drives. Make Time for it.
Please , Don’t put your back up on your PC or Lap Top Drives.
Purchase the most Current TB Storage Drive.
Get EZ-Gig, Get Apricorn. Both will Xfer all your info in a heart beat.
If you don’t need fancy, you purchase the latest Apricorn to HD out of the box to USB .
it’s just a HD that you Can Install to your Lap Top Or PC. You needn’t wear a wrist static to ground strap with it. Nope. Easy as EZ -Gig.
Now what’s interesting is Macrium Reflex Image maker, Clone HD Free Version.
I was running it yesterday and noticed that it auto maticaly unlocks an encrypted drive in place.
Now you have to wonder, if you ran Macrium with Wanna Cry?
Sorry, I just think like that, Altruistic and all that, however it is just an interesting thought that
it would defeat the wanna Cry works.
Cheers.
Oh, I am one lucky dog. I choose Emsisoft five years ago and have not had to experience all those computer hacks everyone else seems to have.
The problems that do occur, are all mine, End User Craft.
An End user can break any sophisticated software with merely a few missteps.
One of my favorites, Is calling for an Exception that Extends past the Parameters of
the Software Address, yet still able to call for it but instead just cause the HD to Shut down to prevent damages. Something like that.
Be Well, Buckle up in the car, and Emsisoft all your gear that crosses over from off line into the Badlands.
It is estimated that a new out of the box PC, Lap top is hacked within the first five seconds of online play, and the owner of that machine, doesn’t even know it.
So. Here is my final solution.
I volunteer Emsisoft to handle all the mailings and organizations.
We all , all around the world at the same time UTC we all format our HD’s, Overwrite our stuff, and re-install it all.
Back up first, and then lets shut it all down.
We can Call it “Restore The HD Day. or what ever our Emsisoft Crew would like to do on that.
It’s plausible, Time consuming, however we send a message to all the Bad Guys and Girls out there who love wreaking our stuff, and then get paid for it.
Lets Shut it all down. Do the Factory Restore, and then run up with Emsisoft Internet Security or what ever you want.
In the mean time, Hack my lap top if you can.
Then Leave a Message.
Thanks.
Charles

That can be easily done by making a new document for example after the backup was made, with just “Backup check” as title and text in it. Then use the backup, and see if that document is still there. Since it was not in the system when the backup was made it should be gone after using the backup.

When you have done your backup of your system then check that the backup is working probably, meaning try to recreate your system from your backup your have made. You would like to know that your backup plan works if you should need it.
