I agree with your last statement. Since it’s such a lucrative business, the quick cash outweighs the cost of losing some users at the moment. Until all users are more aware so they can make a conscious choice, these practices will unfortunately keep happening.

I do not like this trend. To me it is akin to finding someone in your home and they say “well you didn’t tell me I couldn’t come in”.
I will say like another user mentioned here. I have had utorrent for years. Not a new installation. I got an update and I also found that this crapware was installed. I complained through an email and have not heard back. I then switched to another program that was a competitor.
They may find that it is worth losing some of the more knowledgeable people for the money they get kicked backed to them from the ones whom never notice it. It’s a shame that this may be the case.

It’s kinda conflicting.

I’m not defending uTorrent however – there are other torrent clients out there without the bundled crapware and ads, and I do not endorse using torrents in general.
