Today is a big day for Microsoft with its brand new Windows 10 release. Microsoft skipped the version number 9 completely to demonstrate that this version is going to be something special. Windows 10 makes a transition from a version number based licensing to a subscription based scheme. That means users will always get the latest version via Windows Updates, as long as they have a valid license. But not only customers who buy Windows 10 will be affected by this transition. Microsoft will roll out the new version via online updates on all Windows 7 and 8 installations as well.
It’s safe to update
During the last couple of months, our developers tested all Emsisoft protection products on preview versions of Windows 10 to prepare for the big release. A number of modifications were required as anti-malware software naturally works very closely with the operating system core components to enable protection features. But today we can say with confidence that we can protect your computer well with Windows 10 too.
