We were recently infected (3 days ago) with ransomware which leaves files ending in .lock extension. It also says “!!! READ THIS IMPORTANT” and refers to bitcoints and an address @india.com

I have tried the Globe and other decryption tools but they can’t seem to decrypt or detect the encryption type.

I have a sample non encrypted and encrypted file which i can submit for analysts?

Well, that’s strange. If you would, please mail support@emsisoft.com and reference this, and I’ll take it from there.

Hi David, yes, I read and followed the guide. As recommended I have a directory with a relatively small number, 100 or so along with the sample file. There is a directory structure and it will even decrypt the file if its in a sub folder and ignore all the other files. It does so instantly, it’s like it’s not even looking at the other files. Just to test, I have also ran it with a second computer, with the same results. I have tried several different mixes of files and several seed files. It always comes up with the same key and it does decrypt the file, although it doesn’t decrypt the name. So I’m confident in the tools ability to decrypt the files, Just need to get it to do all the files.

Thanks again!

Did you happen to follow the usage guide, specifically section 7 for choosing what areas to decrypt? You can find the usage guide on the same page as the decrypter, here: https://decrypter.emsisoft.com/globe3

I’m having an issue, I’m hoping you could help with. It finds a decryption key, the proceeds with decryption, but it only ever does the sample file I gave it, it doesn’t decrypt any of the other files in the directory. Am I missing something or ??
