There are some specialized tools for screenshot creation but we will focus on the method that works with standard Windows applications:
- Press the Print Screen (Prt Sc) key on your keyboard to create a screenshot of your current screen in your clipboard. If you don't want to create a screenshot of the whole screen but only of the currently active window you can hold the ALT key while pressing Print Screen.
- Open Microsoft Paint (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Paint).
- Once Paint is started press the V key while holding down the CTRL key. If Paint tells you that the current canvas is too small and asks you whether or not you want to resize it answer with "Yes".
- The screenshot should now have appeared inside Paint. You can select "File", "Save As" to save it to a location of your choice. We recommend that you select either JPG or PNG as a file type in the save dialog.
You can then attach the saved screenshot to your posts.
