There can be a number of possible reasons why your Emsisoft product won’t accept your license. Please check the following list of causes for the corresponding solutions.
Emsisoft Anti-Malware
- Incorrect key (e.g. due to a typing error): The best way to insert a key into an Emsisoft product is by copying and pasting the license from the email you received. If the license is not accepted, please re-check the key and then clear the specified field before re-entering the key.
- Connection problems: Please check your internet connection by trying to reach www.emsisoft.com. If the page is displayed, then your internet connection should be working properly.
- Proxy connection: If you are using a proxy, please enter the proxy server’s configuration details into the Emsisoft product’s settings. If you are entering the license during the “Setup Wizard”, this can be achieved by clicking on the “Proxy settings” button. If the program is already installed, go to “Settings” => “Updates”, then click on “Proxy settings”.
- License mapping limit reached: Please note that Emsisoft licenses have a limit of 3 hardware changes per 24 hours. If you receive a message that the mapping limit has been reached, please wait for 24 hours and then try again or contact our support team if you need your key to be reset urgently.
- Incorrect system date & time: Please check the date & time on your computer. If this information is incorrect, please correct it and then try inserting the license again.
- Outdated version of Emsisoft Anti-Malware: If you are using version 6 (or older) of Emsisoft Anti-Malware, your license key will probably not be accepted. To rectify this problem, please uninstall your current version, download the latest version of Emsisoft Anti-Malware from the product page, install it and re-insert your license key in first window of the Setup Wizard.

- Key already used: Please note that an activation code for our security app acts as a one-time voucher for a license which will be assigned to your Google account when activated. Once activated, you only need to remember your Google account login details to unlock the full version of Emsisoft Mobile Security on a mobile device. To transfer a license to another device, you must remove it from the previously assigned device first. That can be done under “My Devices” here: https://central.emsisoft.com/
